naim app and tidal streaming through ndx and ndac

Doy ou happen to understand why the tidal format on naim's app looks different and functions differently in comparison to streaming directly on tidal on smartphone?   Can I stream directly from tidal w/out using naim's app?

With an NDX, you need to use the Naim app, unless you were to use Bluetooth, or with an Airport Express, Airplay, but possibly with an unacceptable loss of sound quality. The new streamers will also play Tidal room its own app via Chromecast.
