CDS3 misbehaving

Posted by: elkman70 on 29 April 2018

Hi, I have just reconnected by CDS3 to 555PSDR following the audition of a CD555.

On reconnection the CDS3 turns on and the motor spins, there is a clicking noise from the laser mechanism and nothing will play. Any ideas of what might be going wrong would be appreciated.

Prehaps the Burndy locking rings haven’t been turned fully.

Elkman.  Switch off. Disconnect the Burndy.  Check over the clamp.  Make sure the rubbers are nice and pert. Then connect up again.  Switch on and try again.  Hopefully it's just having a bit of strop after your dalliance with the CD555.

But if not, let us know...

Fatcat, I think you are right. I swapped out the Burndy for another and all worked and then swapped back and all worked again. All is well. Cheers

Richard, all connected up again and working. I think it was a Burndy glitch and operator error.

Very good. But...It really shows how good, in terms of value for money, the CDS3 is.

I don’t think the CD555 will be coming home. I will stick with the CDS3 until I get a chance to hear a ND555.
