Naim Core Feature Request: Playlist import

Posted by: CSommer on 09 May 2018

I really love the Core, but besides CDs, I have tons of single tracks, carefully curated in playlists. In iTunes and Pioneer Rekordbox. As a DJ you don't sort your stuff by "Albums"m but by playlists. I am talking about nearly 20.000 tracks in at least AIFF. So as a real music server the Core has to be able to import music with/by a playlist. And it would be nice to have in the app a "Track View" and not just Albums or Artists. Additionally, it would be nice to have a multi-select function to save a bunch of files/tracks to a playlist.

Have you suggested this via the Core app feedback or given them a call? Just posting on the forum and hoping someone from Naim will read is not going to happen.

In my DJ days I did store stuff by albums (and singles by band, but more albums than singles).

However, this is the first rational explanation I’ve seen for the possible relevance of a playlist - I’ve always wondered what pipurpose they served, because to me it suggests a pre-determined List of what you will listen to, which is something alien to me.

Well I thought app feedback is for big reporting. But I will post it there asa well. And I think this topic can be relevant for others, because many electronic fans have just tracks or EPs. It is different to listening to classic or jazz. And many electronic productions nowadays have a very good sound quality. I listen to Soul, Jazz and Electronic. I bought the Core to get all my music in one place and I think the Core is superior in sound quality and has a pretty straight forward concept.
