What a shock!

”The potential of digital audio isn't apparent until you try a DAC of this calibre, it’s so good that it’s easy to run out of superlatives.”

Only one superlative is needed, provided that you don’t subscribe to this forum’s excess of hyperbole, and that is ‘wow’ - as in the word involuntarily leaving the lips.

2 super happy users of the Dave.....

i would think there would be more members interested by the review.....but not a problem, i just posted for Dave dac followers.

Maybe people have already read it, or maybe people just don’t care. Not everyone is obsessed with Chord DACs.

Not much else can be said about it really. Bit late to do a review in my opinion

i read that it works well with innuos zenith, and the reviewer preferred spdif vs usb. some technical details can be interesting for some....

Unfortunately the improvement that Blu2 makes to Dave is more than the jump between Hugo TT1 and Dave.

well the review misses some of the more important points of the Dave....

he touches upon naturalness, but that can be found in Mojo also.

Dave has much greater resolution and just creates a more realistic rendering of the music, there's so much more music there compared to the lesser brethren like Hugo....

I like having the big 3D soundstage of Dave.... I never thought this would be possible outside of well recorded analog LP's but Dave makes this possible.

But then there's a huge price difference between Dave and the other Chord Dac's.

Perhaps he just gave his views and did not miss anything in his opinion

HH - I have a Dave DAC and it sounds wonderful.  Not everyone is obsessed with Naim DACs.

Posted on: 22 May 2018 by French Rooster

i have no naim dac, no chord dac, but a streaming dac, and i am obsessed by any of these.  Perhaps Angryhallibut would be more interested if it was a 272 review...

There is absolutely no need to make this personal. Everyone has their own view of the world, even fish.

Please would you stop messing about with my name. It’s very childish. I’m not in the least bit angry. You asked why people weren’t interested and I simply gave a view. No more and no less.

How else could I take it? I wouldn’t call you French Letter if you give dicky replies.

I am not a Chord fanboy, but the below is the ending paragraph of a review....

Perhaps beyond all other aspects of performance, what is so important about the Chord DAVE is that it represents a raising of the bar of what can be had from a digital device. It’s one of those rare products that throws down the gauntlet, both sonically and technologically. Yes, you can do a lot with an off-the-shelf variation on a theme of the application board that is supplied to digital engineers by the chip companies, but that only goes so far. Chord Electronics’ DAVE is one of the few devices that challenges that concept head on. And for that, I can put up with the electromorphising name. The DAVE gets the strongest recommendation we can muster!

ok, ok, MISTER Hungryhalibut, it was stupid from myself.   But Hungryhalibut is not your name, it is just an avatar.   My avatar is a stupid rooster , so i don’t take myself seriously.  Anyway, i apologize again....

Actually, it’s Dr. I don’t take myself seriously either, but I find ****ty responses tiresome. I just need to suck it up, I suppose.
