Naim Allae vs Focal Chorus 816 v

Reading the reviews they are both good value for money Speakers.

But who listens to reviews anyway??

Back in the day I had a set of FC 816’s, they are a great speaker for their price point, as far as comparing them with the Allaes, I would suggest the Allaes would  be better, but really your the only one who can answer the question, best have a home dem and compare.

the 816's are second hand so a home demo isn't possible. Regarding "specs" the 816 should have better detail, no treble roll off and bigger soundstage, but Allaes are better in het bass region (31 Hz!) and i'm worried that the 816 will boom more.  But the Allaes are a bit pickey regarding recording quality. The 816 maybe more forgiving without being overly warm.

I don’t think you will be disappointed with either choice. But if the Allaes are from a dealer then demo and see what you think. 

You just might find you really like them and they work well in your room, in which case it’s helps decide the way forward...

i do nothing else than resetup the damn things Yes bassquality is good, very good indeed but mids and especially treble....... mwoa, could be more realistic.

I know you don't like this (sorry), but have you tried a powersupply on your source?

i have a on and off relation with them and sorry no extra power supply. I made a deal (very good price, so if the Focals don't work i can sell them for at least the same price) with the seller of the Focals.

You will definitely have a much easier set up.

by the way, what cables and interconnects are you using?

by the way, what cables and interconnects are you using?

naca5, naim (i-shenq) mains cables, naim lavender din-din cables. 

If your looking for a bigger soundstage, ect ect,

then trying some upgrade options with your cables and interconnects would be an idea,  just have a chat with your friendly dealer ....

Appreciate what your saying but they do make a considerable difference

Allaes strike me as incredible fun (is there any other point?) and immensely tolerant of modest sources in balanced systems, such as those which we used to call 5 series.
