Hi Naim,
I purchased Uniti Core last June, it works EXCELLENT and the HW/SW design and function is EXCELLENT!
But one week ago, I found almost half of the album cover pictures were lost and can't be recover by restart App or search album data from internet again, then I think it maybe a temporary software fault and will be recover automatically soon. I checked several times in past week but no auto-recover at all.
Today, I think those cover pictures maybe already lost permanently, OK fine, it will takes me some time to take picture of those CD's cover again and edit album cover manually again, it may take me weeks to complete this job.
Then I start with the first album in database, I take the photo of album "SIR Neville Marriner, Academy of St Martin in the Fields, A CELEBRATION", to replace the empty cover picture manually, it's successfully replaced with new photo, then I restart the App to check if the picture still there, then the TERRIBLE thing happened, all data of this album was lost, totally lost, it becomes a unknown album with no title and no track name, that's really scared me, i doubt such operation may cause all album database lost, really TERRIBLE!
I stopped to do anything on the App and post this appeal for HELP, wish this issue can be solved soon and all the album data can be saved.
I have some screenshot picture of my App database but don't know how to post it here.
Thank you very much!

I’m pretty sure that a purging of the database will return your cover art, or a rebuild of the database at worst will bring back your images and album data.
I might be using the wrong terminology and I don’t know how to achieve this on your particular piece of equipment.
I recently had a similar issue with my Naim HDX which was resolved after a library rebuild, using the computer interface n-serve ( which is the interface used by the HDX).

Hopefully you have backed up your Core to a USB hard drive. If so, you could try to reinstall?
Yes I have the backup, restore from backup can be the last try. But the question is, if the root cause and solution is unknown, such case could be happen again even after restore, then restore it again and again could bot be the right way to solve it.

I haven't heard of any software issue with Core that causes loss of data or the effect you are experiencing. So I think this is probably going to be solved by a reset.
But first, how big is your hard disc? For 1300 or so albums you need 1TB and it's better to have more. The reason I mention is that if the hard disc (or SSD) approaches to get full, the Core becomes very uncertain in its operation and the answer then is to delete some albums until there is enough free space.
Second, you must NEVER edit the rips in the Core music database with a PC. You are quite likely to corrupt the database indexing and that is probably what you did with the album where you edited the cover art. The only way to edit metadata and cover art with rips is using the Naim app and the IOS version that you are using is better than the Android version.
I don't think you have said whether you restarted your Core. You should completely unpower it. It's not enough to just put it to sleep, although that sometimes does fix a problem. Also if the Core can't find cover art to edit in then it makes me wonder whether it can still see the Internet.
So I suggest:
1) Turn off the Core and unplug from the mains. You should also turn off any streamer if you are using one but you don't need to turn off a DAC or amplifier if you connect the Core directly to a DAC.
2) Restart your router and wait until it has completely restarted.
3)Plug the Core back on and let it start normally. Also turn on any streamer.
4) Stop the Naim app by double clicking home button and swiping upwards. Then restart the app.
5) Now hopefully your Core is discoverable and the album art is back. I suggest you delete the CD you edited and rip it again.
6) You may need to rebuild the Core index but let's leave that for the moment.

Hi David, thank you very much for your support!
I think I understand all of your point well, I'll go through step 1 to 5.
I only edit Core database via iPad, never use PC. the disc is SAMSUNG 850 EVO 1TB SSD, should still has 200-300MB free space.

Hi David
Thank you very much! You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!
After go through the 5 steps, all album cover picture recovered. Only that album I edited is still shows as unknown album, it must because I edit it in an abnormal status of Core, I'll re-rip it and run backup again.
Thank you again and also thanks the EXCELLENT product and service of Naim.

I'm glad it's all working. Restarting the Core from completely off is always worth a try. And if you can't see images in google when you lookup in the metadata editor, then it means your Core is probably not seeing the internet and restarting the router as well always is a key thing to try.
You may find that if you go to edit metadata on the CD which is showing as unknown, select "lookup metadata" and wait, it will return the data for you. But you will need to add the cover art from google or from your photo. But maybe just easier to delete and rerip.
I think you will be ok up to about 900 GB, but after that you should think about buying a bigger SSD or alternatively you could add a USB HDD and make that your music store, leaving the internal disc as a share.
