Can you answer in just two lines, please?

To the following question: you, who have heard it but never bought it, who have had it and changed it, who have moved to the model 2 or to separates; you who haven't been happy with a Supernait, will you be so kind to tell me, in just two lines, why you didn't like it? Two lines.
Thanks,
Max
(No intention to discourage positive replies, but I am presently only interested in negative opinions.)
Had it and changed it to something quicker, lighter and more revealing....272/250
Had it, liked it but wanted more.....
Had it, liked it but got the opportunity to step up to 282/hicap/250Dr.
would I buy the SN2 again when in the same situation? Yes
Had it but changed it. Still don't know why.
Had a first adopter SN2 for a good few years.
Slightly thin upper midrange eventually became irritating.

Still have SN1. Would like to change, but don't know why.
I liked the SN1 so much I just wanted more. IMO, losing the DAC in the SN2 was a backward step, even if the rest of it was better than the original.
I have Supernait (1) it does everything I want that no other product does in one box & I LOVE the music it makes, why change.
Ciao Max, I know this is not answering your specific question, but it maybe adds balance & its < the line allowance. Divertiti
I thought the original was less fun than a Nait XS. Haven't heard the 2.
SN2 is my first naim amp.
Others are better, probably, but I don't care.
Heard it, liked it (sorry!) liked 282/200 more, bought 282/200.
Thanks. More answers are still very welcome.
Heard in a shop demo against 202/200 with Wilson benesch, it had the same glare as a Nait 5, not present with 202/200. Bought a 282.
Had a ND5 XS > XS 2, sounded fantastic, loved it.... and was happy. Now have NDX > SN2, love it, sounds fantastic.... I'm quite happy!
If I could have NDX > 282 > 250DR, I would love it, it would sound fantastic....... and know I would be happy still......
I have 272/XPSDR/250dr and a SN in another room. 272 has more of everything but SN is still very enjoyable to me. Read one comment about XS 2 being more fun. I agree with that. Loved the XS 2/ND5XS I had.
I heard it at the dealer a few times but I was already in a good place with my slim line olives and had no incentive to make a change.
Never liked the SN1 as it sounds stressed compared to the separates.
not Naim’s finest moment....
the Nait XS 1 didn’t have the same issue and is a very fine amp.

To build on that succinct synopsis, I'd add the SN2 was absolutely splendid on the very upper crust of recordings/masterings while equally brutal on poor material, especially in the noted upper midrange where coherence became scattered. The middle ground of recording qualities between those two extremes were always a constant battle of staving-off listening fatigue via tweaks, room treatment, and decreasing the volume, which finally resulted in me finding a comparable integrated with a slightly warmer, more forgiving, and balanced/coherent presentation, better engaging me to entirety of my music holdings.

stressed really? Wrong speakers/acoustics.
Thanks. I've had 18 replies so far, of which 4 are more or less an answer to my question, a few are about the SN2 which is not what I was asking about, some tell me why they love it which is not helpful at all but I am happy for them anyway, and in the end those helping me to understand why those who do not like the SN1 do not like it, are a small bunch.
Anyone else who can simply tell me why he doesn't like the SN1, without addenda? Thanks a lot.
M.
Actually not a question of not liking, I just wanted more!!! In my experience Naim equipment does deliver - its just you get that bit more of the goodness as you move through the range. Naim musical communication is addictive and highly enjoyable.
Ok, thanks. You surely did what made you happier. It's ok!
What I am trying to discover – since I know there are people who simply do not like the SN1 – is (provided people want to disclose their dislikes, at least with a fraction of the pleasure and verbosity with which they love to say why they love what they love) why they do not like the SN1.
Nobody is required to reply. Another day or so and I'll call myself satisfied and won't bother anyone anymore with my interrogation mark.
Thanks,
Max
A comparison of a SN1 in many environments with my separates always seemed to me that the SN1 sounds stressed compared to the 202 and 282 paired with a nap 200
add a lack of refinement with the SN1 and it’s not an amp I can like although yes it got grunt....
Massimo
its been many years and permutations of Naim you’ve been trying and end up with unsatisfactory experience.
If it doesn’t work for you I suspect you have a mains or earthing issue.
Analog,
who says I end up with unsatisfactory experience? Given the space, budget, number of boxes and expectations I have imposed to myself, I have by a margin the best, most VFM system of all the people I know. I never said it doesn't work for me, but it's a habit of this 'place' to infere statements from questions. Not my case. I can agree with you on one point, though: the SN1 could have some more refinement, especially in its top end; but that's it.
As for mains or earthing issues, I have no hums, everything is in phase, and none of my transformers hums. So, thanks for your concern, but I think I'm ok as I am.
