Hope someone can help me obtain some acoustic foam for these superb speakers. The black foam inside the woofer section has perished and turned to dust. Spoken with Naim and they haven't got any and aren't sure where I could obtain some. Apparently deterioration of this foam is common so hoping that someone here can point me in the right direction.
Hi
Tried Acoustafoam already. Can only do 60ppi but will supply a single sheet. If I'm really struggling I will go with them and put an extra piece in to compensate.

Paul Stevenson managed to give me the specification and the drawing after a few mistakes for the dimensions to cut them . The specs for the foam is - !2.7mm or 1/2" thick reticulated polyurethane foam of 80ppi. Whether I could send a copy of the drawing to Richard who could put it on faq or send it to you direct and maybe the name of the firm that supplied mine. There must be many pairs of SBL's with crumbled foam behind the bass/mid unit, and it falls into the port between the top and bottom boxes. Hope this helps
Sorry everyone, it was Steven Hopkins who turned up the drawings and not Paul Stephenson.

Hello droom,
How have you got on with your speakers. The SBLs had two pieces behind the bass/mid unit.
Tony
Hi
After a lot of messing I've eventually found some on Ebay that is almost the same as the stuff Naim use. There are 4 pieces in the Allaes. None of the UK based organisations could supply 80ppi
Thanks for your help.
how did you get on with the foam replacements. I think mine is also looking like its at the end of its existence.
Is there anyway we can the purchase information made available to others like myself?
Longmanjon, all the info is here in this thread.
Good morning Richard
May I horn in on this Allae discussion? I’ve had to put my Allaes in storage while I redo the condo. I thought I had the bases removed and packing foam surrounds in all the right places but I end up with both boxes bulging on top. Is there a packing Naim speakers for dummies section I may have missed. Any help much appreciated.
Thanks!
Clay, there isn't I'm afraid. IIRC, the bases remain on (just remove the spikes) and the concertina foam sections go round the bottom. There's then a central foam section that fits between the lower box and upper box. The upper top foam is obvious. I think the manual gives instructions here, but I guess pictures or video would be far more instructive...
Thank you Richard. I believe this is very helpful. Have to go to storage and open things up to make sure, but my recollection is that I did things differently. I’ll give it another shot with your information.
Thanks again
Clay, it has been many years since I boxed or unboxed a pair of Allaes, so please take this info with a fair pinch of salt. Having said that I did box and unbox quite a few pairs of them over the years for demos, shows etc..
I've just dug out the somewhat uninformative "Allae Packaging Details" doc.
However the description of each element should indicate its position in the packing.
Bottom Box (!) foam
Mid section
Top box foam
There is also a cardboard container (folded sheet) for the grille - Grille Wrap
Excellent. Thanks Adam.
While digging in my Speaker Section I found the ill-fated prototype SL2 base.
I really wanted one as I was fairly pants at setting my ones up. Nice 'repurposing' of Fraim parts.
Ha! Elements of the Ariva arrangement there...
Do you still have or use the "Super Chips"?

Have - yes, Use - no.
Greatly treasured but a little OTT for my Cute/n-SAT system.

A big thank you.
