Matching speakers to Naim

Posted by: Class on 18 July 2018

Hi

An interesting question

Which speakers Do Naim people choose with their electronics. I have always think that it's important to match the speakers correctly. Ofcourse it's about personal taste

For my self i have chosen Dynaudio Contour S5.4 as I think is a very good  match with Naim. The dynamic,, resoulution, timbre and transperancy and very well balanced sound. The full PRAT Sound from Naim as I liked very much

After a little research ir was the Totem Acoustics Element Earth

It sounds the hell out of most i have heard in speed and dynamic

jesus christ ....... it was good

The non crossover design gives a huge dimension in speed, insight and control

I think with Naim it would  be a dream combination

Well done. Enjoy. I find the sound stage of the Totems amazing The sound just evolves all around you. A fine choice , I am sure.

If you own an XS 2 and find it too sedate try out a pair of Totem Sky.

It has been often written that Naim amps have none or very little crossover distortion.   Any speaker with a very minimal and better no crossover within itself should be better at making use of this feature.

Err...

Speakers don't have crossover distortion - that's an artefact of push-pull amplifiers.

As others have quite rightly said, getting speakers to match your room environment is massively important and a home audition is highly recommended if possible.

Admittedly I did take a bit of a gamble when buying my ATC SCM11 last year, as I only listened to them in the demonstration room at my dealer rather than at home. In my case the gamble well and truly paid off, as they sounded even better in my living room.

Iconoclasts are supposed to turn over Totems. Is that what you mean by 'try out'?

:-)

Yes, very good Ardbeg.

Etymologically speaking, they're supposed to break them (too much volume perhaps?)

I find always good synergy with Neat, ATC, PMC, Totem and Audiovector
