What a Statement

Sounds like you had a great time there and what an experience it must have been to have listened to that system.

As the Audiophile Reviewer said, there are two types of components to buy:

The Best, and very close to the best, for a lot less!!!!

Perhaps the ND 555, reflects the latter$!!!

From what was said the other night, I understand the ND555 is £20k so £7k more than the NDS, but as Mark pointed out there is no point in having an awesome system without a good front end. Source first, and even at £20k, it was a fraction of the cost of the rest of the system, but made a huge difference.

Well Nic, I've been on a hiatus from the Form, but a Couple of years ago members were wishing for a ND 555!

Well, they got their wish!

And the price appears to reflect the improvements over the NDS.

Not always, but usually there's a direct relationship between price & quality!

Here in the State's the price of Naim's Reference CDP (CD 555) was 20K, and the NDS was around 13K.

It makes sense!

The ND 555 should complement the Statement in an Naimly Fashion!

The question now:

CD 555 vs ND 555

Perhaps I will pay the Darke Bear a visit! Lol!

I must admit I did listen to a youtube clip of ND555 with statement and g utopias and it did sound pretty darn good....even as a phone recording....the ND555 is definitely on my bucket list....
