Chord launches new M Scaler for Hugo TT

Don't think this has been posted elsewhere, apologies if it has. It was launched at today's CanJam in London.
analogmusic posted:I think that's why mscaler sends a 705khz signal to Dave which tells Dave to switch off the first stage WTA filter. In any case it shows on Dave screen when the dual bnc is active
As for separate mscaler well Rob watts says the mscaler generates way too much PSU noise to be in the same box as his Dave DAC....
Well the nds also has the PSU in another box....
Thanks, Analogmusic!
So we can assume that Dave, HugoTT2 and Qutest are sensitive to the m scaler (resp. its 705 kHz signal) and switch off their own filtering, thanks. But what happens with the filtering in a Hugo/Hugo TT (apart from its upper limit of 384 kHz)? Though Chord say that the m scaler works with any DAC, - I cannot see that the m scaler can have a great effect when the DAC's own filtering is not disabled?
Not sure. Best to ask Chord
The fact that the older Hugo and TT1 won't benefit from Mscaler is reflected in the drop in their second hand prices...

Yeah, that would be a rather interesting battle...
Innocent Bystander posted:Gazza posted:I will demo all the new streamers inc the new nd5 with Dave and the blue 2 upscaler. If I like the latter I will just buy the nd5 and a Dave and wait for the mscaler. Despite knowing all about the Chord products , people are trying, buying and loving the ND555. Perhaps they feel they get more of the Naim presentation of music and something different with Chord?
It sounds as if you have an open mind. I suspect in at least some cases others simply haven’t heard Dave, whether from lack of opportunity, commitment to a particular size/ shape of black box, or blind belief that the ND555 will inevitably outshine anything else (which for all I know, it may)
Hmmm — I guess, if one is super-happy with the NDS, it is “easier” to upgrade to an ND555. This might be an example of path dependence. If I had the cash, I would like to compare Dave/Blu 2 and the ND555.
Having said this, I like to return to the same sushi place when we visit in Seoul — and it’s about an hour from our accommodation of the last 3 years. Surely, there are great if not better sushi restaurants in our current neighbourhood — but it drives me back to the place I know. Just went there this evening, and the Tuna was yummy...
Ah sushi...
I know a great sushi restaurant in Sheung Shui (New Territorries, HK) - but as it takes a day a more travel to get there and at least £600 (often more), I don’t get to go often

Fortunately, my tube ride was only 1,250 Korean won (one way), which equates to about 90p. But it was rather hot and humid...
Sushi? Try Jiro Ono's Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo.

That may be an option during the coming year - when visiting we would like to see what it is like there, but finding/choosing one to try is another matter.Assuming you mean it is good, any particular reason for that assessment? Address?
thanks!

IB, this is the best one (maybe in 'this' world), Abe held a state dinner for Obama there.
Reservation is at least 4 or 6 months in advance, small place, catering for less than 10, and no need to mention the address as it is very well known.
