Fyne Audio and Naim

Posted by: Anavrin on 22 July 2018

Hi Guys

Does anyone know if Fyne Audio speakers are a good pairing with Naim amplifiers, I have a unity Star and in looking at Fyne Audio for speakers, they’re a new company based in Scotland and two of their models have had What HiFi 5 Star reviews, I like the look of the F501, short of a demo, I just wondered if anyone has them or has heard them, preferably on a Naim system.

I heard them at the Bristol Show and they sounded very good indeed - well worth a listen.

LIKE BIG TANNOY SHOULD GO BETTER WITH VALVES.

the sensitivity is 90 db, so not horn like speakers as tannoy.   Nait xs, supernait, nap 150 should be fine, very probably.

But i won’t trust What Hifi without hearing them.

Well looking at the top model  F1-10 it certainly looks to me like  a duel concentrick  design with a  75 mm  horn tweeter.

i just went on the fyne site and read f501 spec:  it is not a horn speaker.

Agree about the f501 but fyne speakers IMO are about  the f1series.

I heard these this week in a Richer Sounds in Glasgow, on a Cambridge CXN and A80 Ampl via Spotify, even with that setup they sounded quite good, very clear highs, decent enough base weight but the midrange sounded a little too busy, but it was in a high street shop with other people listening to other systems in the same room, over all I was quite impressed but I need to hear them in a quite room, preferably with my Uniti Star.
