Connecting a SONY DAT PCM7040 to ND5XS via AES/EBU

Hi, please help,

I have professional SONY DAT PCM7040 that I want to connect to the ND5/XS and later to the NDS 2. The issue is with the comms protocol being at the DAT end AES/EBU whereas on the ND5 XS is SPDIF. Now the 2 protocols although are compatible I am not sure whether a straight XLS /BNC cable would work, or I need to put a converter in between.

The question is: does the ND5/XS support the AES/EBU?

Salvo, you'll most likely require an impedance transformer. I have successfully used a Canare 110ohm to 75ohm transformer - XLR at one end and BNC at the other.
