Ovator S600 cabinet width❓

A bit of an odd request, but could any S600 owners (or anyone else for that matter) let me know what the max cabinet width is. The specs say the width of the speaker is 401mm, but I’m assuming this includes the metal base - which (from the images I’ve seen) appear to protrude c50mm either side.

The cabinets themselves are 308 mm at widest point. Lovely speakers by the way.

Cheers for that. Surely the ultimate marmite design ‼️

Are you thinking of jamming a pair in the corners of your room? From what I read on the Ovator speaker range thread, this doesn't look all that fruitful. Seems they need a bit of space around them.

Sorry if I have the wrong end of the stick, it could be that you are just trying to slot them in between some furniture....

They do indeed need space around them. When I had mine the were 50 cms  from the wall and 60cms from the corners of the room. They also need a decent power amp to give of their best. I used mine with a 300DR. They’re a lot of speaker second hand. I liked the wide dispersion of the BMRs but some don’t. As usual a home demo is important, that’s if you can find a dealer willing to lug around and install a pair- they weigh a ton.

And now did you have to change position with Sopra 2 ?

After a little experimentation the Sopras are in much the same position thanks to Jason from Naim who delivered and installed with help from a colleague.
