500 landed on the mat so now i’m wonky

Wonky active that is, 500 on the LF. and 4 135’s

obvioudly the intention is to get a couple more then plonk them in an envelope and off to Salisbury for DRing & service

i did this with the Super Sarum speaker cables and although there was a difference each time it wasn’t until I had all 3 pairs when it really took the sound into a new dimension

my issue is that 500’s at a decent price are far and few between, so I’m wondering if there’s any mileage in replacing the 135’s with S/H 300’s for the interim which should be roughly cost neutral

the system briefly is - full blown LP12 - Superline - 362 - supercap DRs - wonky active - DBLS - Super Sarum throughput

Hi Lyndon, many folk have used Wonky active Naim speakers, particularly with DBLs for obvious reasons, but in my experience it doesn't work too well - you're always aware of the lesser amp. My advice would be to either hold out for another couple of 500s, or maybe go for three 300s, the former option natuarally preferable but with 3x300s at least you'd have a balanced system that'll sound pretty wonderful.
