IPhone app

Posted by: Campmusic on 30 July 2018

Hi all

I’m having problems with my app, it is not finding my rooms (both iPhone 7 and iPad current generation).

When I scan my network there does not seem to be a problem with the three Apple WiFi stations and the internet works on both appliances.

Is any one else having such problems?

Thanks in anticipation

I'm having the same issue with my iPhone 7 can't find my SuperUniti (but the iPad 4 is fine) perhaps latest iOS update is the culprit...

Ever since I upgraded to the latest ios app for the iPad, I'm having problems.  Right in the middle of using the app, it will change to a screen that says "Looking for rooms" or something like that.  It just hangs.  It takes multiple closing and re-opening of the app for it to go away.  Very annoying.  I don't have any rooms, just one!  I knew I shouldn't have updated the app.  It was working fine before that.

Please make sure that you iPhone is on the latest iOS version.
Remove the NAIM app and re-install it from the App Store. Please make sure that you also swith your router / modem off, wait few minutes and start it again.

With network issues always try rebooting the network. That means turning off the entire network including router, wait a few minutes for capacitors to discharge. Turn on from network source first, ie router, waiting a few minutes for network stability before turning on the next network connected item perhaps network switch  Etc etc. Always wait for the a few minutes between turning on the next network attached item. You can also try resetting the app rather than uninstalling reinstalling.

I also have the same problem on both an ipad mini 4, an iphone 8+. All my appliances are Apple, including the wifi router (3 of them) and the app sometimes has same issues as reported by CampMusic

Airport stations running as network extenders or with different networks?

Finding rooms update: thanks for all the replies and comments.

My internet is provided by Gigaclear and I have turned off and on, with a suitable wait, its box.

I have a NETGEAR Prosafe network switch, GS748T, whose firmware I cant update due to webpages preventing me to log on to NETGEAR (is it time for a Cisco switch?). I turned this beast on and off.

I also turned off my NDS and unitiqutes (the former is connected to a NAS which sits on trolley that houses my ‘qutes, this makes it impossible to control the ‘qutes with a Naim remote).

All my Apple software is up to date (phone, iPad and airports).  This process has provided a solution ... so fingers crossed.

Thanks for all the advice

My iPad is updated with the latest IOS.  I uninstalled the Naim app and reinstalled.  The setup screen only displayed the new models ND555, NDX 2, ND5 XS2, and other products which I don't have.  I finally figured out to cancel out of that and do a manual install.  Luckily I guessed the right IP.  The previous version I didn't have to do that.  It just found it.  The app finally worked after that.  I did not reset my network since that has been up for the last 6 months and working fine.

Now when I switch out of the app to check my email or something, and go back to Naim app, it shows the setup Rooms screen again.  I have to keep closing that.  What is this obsession with setting up rooms?  It should be once and done.  How do I get it out of this setup mode?

[@mention:76328489300111148].

Could you please shut down all your network components, especially the router / modem / swtich. Wait few minutes and start them up again: router / modem / switch first. Let it settle down for a few minutes and then continue with your other components: NAS, streamer etc.
Please delete the app on your iPhone and upload it again from the AppStore.

Essentially what you will be doing is forcing your network to refresh and re-assign IP addresses to the network components.

You don't need to enter any details into the app for the existing products. The app should just find them without you adding them manually.

The new product stuff for new Unitis and new platform streamers is to guide you through the setup process. The old Unitis and legacy streamers don't need setting up in the same way.

Have others found a fix for this? It was happening with my iPhone 7 at first now the "finding rooms" message is also showing up on my 4th Gen iPad. It's very annoying, I can't use the app on either idevice now. Will try reseting the whole network next. But seriously, this is becoming a bad joke.

The advice given to shut everything down, and restart your router, then any switches on the network, followed by your NAS, if using one, then finally your streamer has worked for me in the past.

However, a recent change to a new router was causing the same issue, and the above procedure didn't help.

What did work was to go into settings on n-Serve and unclick "Auto Connection", then, having scanned my network with the Net Analyser free app., manually enter the streamer IP address.

Hope this helps.

You may find that killing the app by swiping it up and then restart it will fix the issue.

Thanks for the help guys. I've already killed the app. deleted it and re-installed it. Same issue.

Will try re-setting the network (Router, Switch) when I get home tonight, And manually entering the streamer IP address.

For the record I didn't reset my network.  I didn't think that was necessary, and I'm stubborn.  I manually entered the IP, quit the app, and used it a week later.

Everything seems to work perfectly now.  It no longer wants to find rooms.  So somehow it fixed itself.  I'm happy again.
