NDX2

Has anyone pre ordered or managed a dealer demo?
My dealer suggested late August.
By good like Bert ND555 thread to get some thoughts and much anticipated comparisons.
Crispy posted:I wonder how run in the NDX2 was that was reviewed. We know it takes an age for Naim equipment to run in so there could be further improvement to come.
Andrew Everard is a proper Naim user himself, so he will know about running in Naim kit and anyway I expect Naim will have made sure that the unit they gave HFN was well run in. So I guess that it will have been pretty well where it should be, sound-wise.

I have NDX2 on order too. My dealer has confirmed it should be arriving in Sept. I already have nDAC with 555PSDR so I’m looking forward to comparing NDX2 > nDAC > 555PSDR vs NDX2 > 555PSDR.
I had a pleasant evening at a NDX2 demo in Auckland with young Dan Poulton from Naim. Certainly an impressive piece, very clean and precise. It was running with a 202/250dx/hicap and Focal Kanta’s. It certainly hit a nice sweet spot for a multi box system. Back home I compared the same tracks on my Nova and Totem Forest Signatures, and it thought it was no slouch in comparison though, and a better balance point for performance, investment ily friendly aesthitics and size.
First demo I have been too and it was great fun and I learnt a lot, specially about the improved headphone stages in the Uniti range. Today I tackled two firmware updates on my second system UC2 and installed Tidal, so it’s all co e together really nicely.
I just read a great review of the NDX2 in the German Stereo magazine. It scored 98% where 100% equals current reference. They tested with and without psu.

Would love to hear your comments on this. I am toying with the idea of doing exactly what you have done.

Very happy NDX2 owner. I spent the weekend wondering who had stolen my speakers. Everything (well most) now just comes from a space without a physical base. Very musical as you'd expect. Tad harsh on the upper strings as it settles down but overall so very impressive. I have not visited my less-recent files so much in quite a while, but continuing old and new favourites well thrashed now. Tremendous fun. Quite unforgiving with poorer recordings but when the quality is there it is being revealed in such heart-warming (read silly grin) way. Wish I had the NDX to hand to do a comparison, but memory tells me I have invested in something quite special. Thanks Naim.
I’m with cdboy, I’m also a very happy NDX2 owner. I initially ran it as a transport into nDAC but now I have it powered by 555PSDR, direct into pre via SL interconnect. I have to say I’m not missing the nDAC at all. The resolution on better recorded material (ripped on Core or via Tidal) is simply stunning. I’m hearing so much more now from recordings - subtle nuances that I didn’t hear before. A very musical player. I agree that poor recordings are revealed exactly as what they are. The NDX2 is a fine streamer, well worth the investment
I heard the NDX2 at East Audio Show and was impressed with how musical they sounded.
