Recommendations for Rigid Speaker Stands for Kef LS50?

Posted by: sjt on 08 August 2018

I have Kef LS50s and they are on top of a speaker stand at the moment. Blu tack is between the speaker and the stand and the stand is spiked through the carpet onto a concrete (block and beam) floor. I can feel the stand flex when I put my hand on top of it, and from what I understand the key criteria for stands is that they are a) rigid and b) non-resonant. Mine have 3 columns and the middle (big) one is full of weight material and doesn’t ring.

The question is – are there any stands that are really rigid? I think I can sort the resonance via filling, but any suggestions for a truly rigid stand would be most welcome. Also, if I have got my facts wrong about key criteria for stands, please say so!

Thanks in advance

Speakers stands really need to match the speaker.  Some speakers require massive solid stands and some work better with open medium mass stands.  These stands work well with most speakers I've tried. Custom Design FS104 Signature

There is an official KEF authorised version of the Custom Design FS104 (as mentioned above) specifically for the LS50's.

That is excellent

When will Kef realise there's a huge potential out there for front grilles for these speakers
