Tidal - Naim Atom

Posted by: JAG on 10 August 2018

I just switched to Tidal from Spotify, great times.

I am finding the built in Naim app quite clunky, the menu likes to stop working at random intervals and it's generally a pain.

Is there a way to play tidal through the atom using the native Tidal android app, thus bypassing the naim app completely. With spotify connect i used to simply select the atom as a playback device and never had to use the Naim app.

Any help would be appreciated, it seems this should be very easy to do and im hoping im just an idiot.

Thanks

Yes, with an Atom you can use the Chromecast Audio input to stream Tidal from its own app.

Just make sure that the Chromecast input is enabled on the app. If it isn't, go to Settings>Input Settings>Chromecast and make sure it is running. Tap the Chromecast input on the app home page, and you should see a Tidal option to select. Alternatively, open the Tidal app on your phone, and you can probably send the signal to the Atom from there. At least you can on iOS, not sure about Android.
