superuniti with nap 300dr

Posted by: French Rooster on 18 August 2018

Hello, someone asks me if it is possible to connect a superuniti to a nap 300dr.  As i am selling the last, i want to give a confident response to this person. My dealer is on holidays.     Is it necessary to have a special cable to connect both, like made in order by chord?  thanks

The SuperUniti has a single 4 pin Din preamp output, which means that you need a special ‘Y’ lead with a 4 pin Din plug one end and two XLR plugs on the other.

Yes it will work. You will need a custom Y cable. The 300 requires two DIN4 to XLR cables as normally it would take its feed from 2 DIN sockets on a HICAP or Supercap. You just need a DIN 4 to 2 XLR Y cable to utilise the single DIN output from the Superuniti. It's can be easily made up by a dealer or someone like Flashback cables.

I’v used my SU with a 300DR. Works very well. Had a special cable made by flashback, you need a very wide Y on the XLR side otherwise you cannot reach both sockets.

how much does this cable by flashback cost, if i dare ask?
