Naim Server has stopped working....

Dear all, back from the holidays I switched on my Uniti Star but had a bad surprise..... it's impossible to enter into the Server mode, everything seem empty with no albums, songs or artists.... I tryied to change the server (from the HDD to a USB pen) and then go back to the previusly one but there are no way to recognize anything.
All the files are still in the HDD (nothing were deleted), the Star rip correctly the CDs (more slowly that before) in the same HDD, but the server not work....

Any idea?

try to switch off then on a second time, and restart your router too. Sometimes it works.  Good luck, if not, you can send a message to naim here on the forum.

I suggest turn off the router and the Star. Take the power of the Star completely so you know it's not just asleep. Then restart the router and when it has finished, restart the Star. You probably should also stop and restart the app too.

If this doesn't work then I suggest you turn server mode off in the Star, power cycle it again and then turn server mode on again.

If that doesn't work either then you will need to contact your dealer or Naim support. It's not enough to leave a message in the forum because Naim don't routinely monitor all threads in the forum and so it may not be seen.

I have similar unreliable performance with my Nova. My NAC-N 272 is relative reliable, it mostly finds the UPnP server easily. The Nova however has much more trouble for some reason. I keep on powering off and on the router, the NAS, the Nova, and then by some luck, sometimes after hours, suddenly the UPnP server, showing all music again on the Nova. Frustrating, and no clue what the cause or the solution is....

Another frustration is that the Nova/Star/Atom series does not allow you to search music on a NAS (via UPnP server.)  Pressingthe magnifying glass top left on the app, only searches on "local music". Frustrating if all your music is stored on the NAS!

One of our forum members ended up connecting a HDD directly to the Nova, but then how to maintain and update your library? The classic series (172, 272, NDX, NDS) simply lets you search on the UPnP server (from which most of play music anyway). No clue why Naim removed this very obvious functinality from Nova/Star/Atom. Hoping, praying and waiting that a next App update allows us to search on the server again...
