3 box challenge

LP12, Radikal, Nait XS. Ran that for quite some time very successfully.

Is a SN2 up to a ND555/555? If so maybe I need to rethink my current situation. 

Okay, I'll buck the trend and say NDX2, 202, 200.

Source first my dictate an ND555 and an integrated but I'd go for a balanced system every time.

If the budget is unlimited, why not build an extension big enough for all the boxes you want

I went for NDX/282/200DR, as I too have a self imposed 3 box limit. (I was prepared to allow a NAPSC as it sits out of sight away from the rack) with 272/XPS/250 as a close second. At the time, a number of people suggested NDS/555/Supernait as a better option at a considerably higher price, and now that the ND555 is here, that has to be the setup I would want to try out.

This combo has my attention. I should be getting my friends SN2 in a  couple of weeks.

272/555DR/250DR is superb.

i recently listened to ND555/555DR/Statement and I reckon the above system was 90% as good. It loses nothing in timing or engagement.

ND555/555 and Supernait 2 if sticking with Naim.

Vertere turntable, serviced 72/hicap/250DR for ultimate sound quality.  Not sure if I'd DR the Hicap.

State of the art streamers should be the best source, yet somehow I still prefer (just) the sound of a chisel in a plastic groove...

How does the best half width amp combo compare to a supernait 2? I disliked the original supernait but haven’t heard the 2, nor have I heard any half width amps. The ND555 will take the other two shelves.

250dr with PowerLine Lite

Innuos Zenith SE or Melco N1Z, Chord Blu2, Chord Dave.  = 3 boxes with both streaming and CD capability, though the Blu2 also functioning with streaming, apparently improving the sound.  Use with active speakers such ATC or PMC, depending on your sound preference.

Seems like a lot of Naim boxes i'm unfamiliar with ????

I'm impressed by your Nait 5, Gary. I bought one myself as a stand-in when other amps were going for service. The Nait 5 has been making music ever since. I look forward to pair it with some ESL's in the future.

Great stuff! Yes i think it a hidden gem in the Nait lineup. I had a 5si in my office system for ages, which didn't quite match up to the magic of the '5' 

NDX (2?) - 282 - 200DR for me. Or...

Turntable / ND555 / 555ps into Dynaudio actives which include preamp functionality 

CDX2 / NAT05 XS / Supernait2

Devialet or Hegel + NDX2 :-)

Well, I've been having the exact same question myself for my system, as I have 3 available levels of Fraimlite and a flat TV sitting on top of the fourth one (heresy, I know...)

Anyway, my answer would be 3.01 boxes: A Raspberry Pi based server/renderer/streamer (call it however you like) hidden somewhere in the back, followed by nDAC/555PS + SuperNAIT 2. That would be my end game as I will never aspire to reach the mighty heights of ND555!

For now I am happy with nDAC + NAIT XS/FlatCap XS. Nice visual match as well.
