MANA Acoustics Sound Clamp

Posted by: MNn on 30 August 2018

So have John Watson released a new product product in the Mana serie :-)

He has named it Sound Clamp.

I have just installed it with my NAC52 and will now let my Naim equipment warm up.

Interesting. I thought Mr Mana had retired from the audio business? And was now offering ‘Mana Audiophile Holidays’ in the outbuildings of his property situated in Llanerchymedd on the (rather wonderful, although with a heavy bias) Isle of Anglesey? Said holiday outbuildings resplendent with a full system inc Linn Isobariks and assorted Mana supports for all kit.

During my LP12 days I had Mana racks for a short time, but was never fully convinced somehow. Seemed a lot of precarious set up faff for relatively small gains. Ended up keeping my Audiotech wall shelf and Sound Org rack.

Nice to hear.

I have recentley changed 3 of my Naim Fraim to different Mana's and I must say that I'm satisfied.
I have noticed my increasing foot tapping

It's rather 'industrial' looking. Keeps with the Mana tradition though

Yes You are right James, but I have all the electronics in the next room which happens to be the garage so it fits good

(How did You include my image in the post?)

Neat - Industrial works nicely then

The image - I re-quoted your post to extract the image source. It's a google photos image so in google photos i just dragged the image up to the menu bar on my browser to get the source image address and then copied that to use as the 'source' in the insert image tab.

PS - Imgur for photo storage is a good alternative.

Say that again slowly James.

Urghh

Pls tell more, I could only get the one pic. Does it mark the box? Do you think it’s  better than a sound frame. What did it cost? Where did you pick it from?

JW is always going on a about retirement but the music just takes over!

Hope that’s not braking any rules.

Lets face it, it's a small piece of right angle iron with some 8mm thread holes.

So £400 then?

???? GARYI,...❓❓❓❓❓❓❓ ????????????

Please,..can we get some wiser and more serious posts.....Thanks.!

This above is directly insulting to Mr. John Watson.

/Peder????

???? Bob the Builder,....MNN (OP) hasn't written any price yet,it was Garyi who wrote £400 in his insulting post.

But considering how Chord prices its Chord Music Ehternet 1m cable,...so,everything under £4500:- is cheap ????.

Typically sad response.

Funnily enough, I've got some suitable angle iron left over from knocking up a pair of "Mana-like" Soundbases. Don't even have to break out the welding gear for this one!

Calm down now I wouldn't want to offend Mr Watson!

I have two mana wall shelves in my sitting room, its good stuff, I am not against the product and have no idea what it will cost.

Relooking at the design i am wondering if this is purely localised support, where maybe people do not use racks, instead whatever furniture they have. Or maybe even a simple Phase upgrade for those using racks. It does look ugly though if used in the aforementioned manner or is it mana.

Nice to see JW back on the scene, miss the old days with Damian also (but not the forum flame wars please).

It looks like it digs into the sides of the hifi though?

It looks like a frame that cradles the box. The ebay ad mentions the feet needing to be removed. It's difficult to see if the bolts on the side are pointed and meant to be tightened only enough to lightly couple to the side of the box without damaging the surface finish.

That’s an interesting and unexpected direction, if a little industrial as mentioned by James. Any more photos showing full width?

Could be a very useful product if intended to isolate just one box though. Look forward to reading more on how it performs. Phase ten to help it perform optimally!

MNN - How is the Naim olive case attached to the support?

Surely not.  The foot screws securely bolt the tray and cover together.
