MANA Acoustics Sound Clamp

Posted by: MNn on 30 August 2018

So have John Watson released a new product product in the Mana serie :-)

He has named it Sound Clamp.

I have just installed it with my NAC52 and will now let my Naim equipment warm up.

When you setup the clamp did you happen to turn off you 6 pack? I find after closing down my serviced 1988 135’s even for10 mins it takes days for the bottom end to come back on song. Very strange but true. I’m am sure you know your wonderful system in and out, just asking...

Thanks, yes I'm aware of this troublesome fact...

????

I guess that unlike a Fraim a Mana rack must vibrate, rattle and shake like hell hence the need to clamp!

????????

I'm also the owner of 3 Fraim and with the right installation there is no problem with Mana.

Oh Richard,  your humour is out standing. I’m sure you must be the life of the party ????

What I think is more of a worry than any incorrectly setup mana rattling, is that you actually put your naim to that post.

when you should of signed off as “Dick”????????????

Was designed for CD players to start with.  Funnily enough turns out works on everything else.  Particularly well with name audio.

How convenient

I think that Naim Fraim is so much better than Mana in every way.I also think that both Nac´s and Snaxo´s sounds better without the boxes,so no Sound Clamp for me

Interesting..When you write this so firmly, I naturally assume that you have tested and compared.

This then of course in the same room, with the same equipment, where Fraim and then Mana stands in exactly the same place on the floor.

Both optimally installed,..which takes time.

Is it based on this conditions you pronounce this so resolutely?

Absolutely !

Hey Peder, you are right, it must be compared in same all conditions.  But for me Flat said » I think «  and «  for me », so his affirmation was not so resolutely said.

Why I ask,..for there are so many who claim things with definiteness, and then it turns out that they have not thought of all the details.

Mana is,for example, very sensitive to how they are installed, they must stand exactly in the wave,..And I mean exactly.
And the glass should sound with a special tone,..To name a few things.
Otherwise,..definitely does not Mana sound good.!

◾ MNN,..OP,..has tested exactly as I described in my previous post.
This together with two other very experienced and good listeners, they came up with a completely different conclusion.

All preferred Mana in front of Fraim,..they also performed this comparison in two different homes.
So it was in two different dedicated music rooms that these two...Fraim and Mana were tested.

And..Important to point out,it was the musical aspects that were important..Not sound aspects.
But it probably understands everyone here.

We are really "Attention to Detail guys",so if you have done exactly what I described earlier, it feels odd that you got another result.
Assuming that you also prioritize the musical aspects.

As many others I changed to Naim Fraim after years with Mana....at that time I had LP12/CDS/Nac 52/SC/Snaxo2-4/2x250/Naim SBL/Linn Kan
