Bubbles on CD5x Display
Posted by: Audiohoon on 03 September 2018
Hi all,
I have a CD5x that has developed a bubble on the display. I can only assume it is a film that’s attached to the actual front panel of the unit I am sure the LCD is probably a seperate unit.
Suggestions to where I can get that fixed near Miami? Or if I can purchase the part and maybe diy?
Any feedback from anyone experiencing this issue would be great!
thanks!
It's a well known issue (dealt with in other threads on this forum). Would suggest to contact Naim's service dept. for options. Don't think it's a DYI job.

I pretty much searched throughout the forum and can’t find any resolution from members. Can you point me in the right direction?

He did -- "Would suggest to contact Naim's service department."
You're in the States, and Naim have dedicated service here through their US distributor. You have an authorized dealer in Miami and they certainly will put you in touch! I'm sure they'll make the call for you and arrange for service.
IIRC it's when the filter touches and "sticks" to the window. It can often happen if the window is pushed with a finger or similar. It's not a performance issue, but if it's something you want fixed then you should contact your Naim dealer or distributor.

You mean it's not a touch screen??
Thanks for the help. I’ve reached out to Audio plus options, while they offer me fixes they can’t seem to give me a real estimate...
Never seen anyone not being able to give estimates, seems more like they want to have it in their hands to then charge whatever premium they want.
reached out to a couple of other repair stores. Will wait for their feedback.
You seem confused. Audio Plus is the North American distributor. AV Options also are in the US and repair Naim equipment. There is no connection to the two. Each repairs Naim.
Either will do a professional job to repair your unit. Given their volume of business, I doubt that either is lying in wait to over-charge you beyond their usual hourly rate. You're making this much more difficult on yourself than you need to. Live with the display as-is, or send it off to get repaired.

I meant Audio Plus. It has only been difficult because non of the authorized repair or distributors can give a solid ball prk figure for repairs.
considering this is a unit that has already been out for more than 10 years you’d expect companies with this “experience” to be able to pin point exactly what is needed and give you an estimate.
AV options sent me to audio plus for service. For such a prestigious company I find their service so far to be a bit of a hassle.
The mech will need replacing eventually. Leave the repair until then.
