Classical only streaming. Apple have an app but I’ve no idea if/how we can play it through the 555. Wait for Naim to add it or does Airplay have a use here? I’m rather distant from my 555 at the moment.

Thrilled to hear Primephonic is here. How do I listen? I have a Naim Uniti Core. For that matter I’d like to give Deezer and Tidal a try too. How do I do that sort of thing?

The Core is a server. You need a streamer, or a computer conncted to your DAC, to access these web services.

Back at home now and started the 14 day trial of Primephonic. Not played any familiar recordings yet but it plays on the 555 through Airplay via the music bit of the control pannel. I’ll let the system warm up a bit before a serious appraisal, it’s been unplugged for a week.

The disadvantage of Airplay is that it will send CD quality only, but has the advantage normally of playing gapless which can be important for many albums, classical or otherwise.

Chromecast can support hi-res audio, but if the 555 is like the Uniti devices it may not play gapless - at least Qobuz will not for me. (Have you trialled Qobuz if available where you are?)

Primephonic say they're 're-platforming' and Chromecast support is on hold:

Ensuring the functionality of our service with Chromecast is one of our highest priorities, however, due to the upcoming re-platforming of Primephonic which should take place in August, all integration projects, such as Chromecast have been temporarily placed on hold in order to avoid technical issues that could be caused as a result of the re-platforming.
