Apparently the Two Russians visiting Salisbury we’re sightseeing ????
Umm.... the TV footage of the two tourists wasn’t very convincing...
I bet the percentage of intelligent Britons who knew the height of the spire of Salisbury cathedral, whether in feet or metres, before recent events was very small indeed. Now, I suspect the percentage is close to 100.
Apparently someone has just attempted to steal the Magna Carta from Salisbury Cathedral ....
it all happens in Salisbury.....
Amazing....not sure where you could sell that, unless stolen to order or perhaps the person needs help?

Will see if it’s put on eBay later....

......... perhaps ???? that has to be the understatement of the year.
It would be stolen to order and then just 'disappear' into the 'secret' part of someone's private collection. Later it may appear on the 'dark web' but with it being so important and so high profile, even on the dark web there's significant risk to anyone trying to sell it. More likely to be exchanged on the sub-rosa criminal network that exists between some 'collectors'.

Huge, your imagination is running away with you again. The "robber" cannot be anything else other than a sandwich short of a picnic. His cunning plan was to stage the robbery around 17:00 yesterday, the time the Chapter House closes, & at that time there are numbers of the public still milling around, there are likely more than normal security / officials trying to move them on & get closed up, plus the battery of CCTV in the room, its entrance & security doors & along the cloister leading to the Chapter House. The press photo's look like he smashed the glass in two places, I would guess an ice pick or similar was used, & as any dimwitted robber would have expected it's laminated security glass & getting a hole into that big enough to lift out the artefact would hardly go unnoticed.
OK, I hadn't seen the report. Yes, then if he ate a fruitcake he'd be guilty of cannibalism!
