Kralk Audio Speakers

Has anyone here heard Kralk Audio speakers? And what is your impression of them?
Dave
I’ve heard a couple of pairs on different occasions - specifically the Black Cats (BC30) and the much more expensive KA2. I was mainly curious about the BC30 being an infinite baffle design which could be used hard against a rear wall. Not heard the latest TDB ported range yet.
Must stress that they were heard under less than ideal circumstances at a show, but was assured it was a pretty good representation.
Competitively priced, beautifully made and finished with real attention to detail. For both models, sound was fast, exciting and dynamic with a forensically clean (esp the KA2) presentation. Overall I found them a little lean in balance, so I didn’t pursue them any further.
The Co. owner is a really good guy and very approachable, but it was just a shame they weren't for me as I genuinely wanted to love them as there aren't many sealed box designs out there.
As always its going to be how they fit the room and system, but they are very good value for money and its evident they are built with great care and passion.
Thank you for your feedback. I understand the BC30s are a little bass-light so they wouldn't be right for me anyway. I am considering the TDB-6 or TDB-8 model. One of the things I like about the design of these speakers is that they don't have a rear port. A rejig or our lounge may make rear porting impractical and it might be an excuse for an upgrade
Agree - the new TDB range do look like they could be an interesting proposition with the front port placement, and also the rather unique tweeter adjustment...
"A Tweeter level pad gives full control over the output from the tweeter so the user can balance the speaker system to the room acoustics or personal taste."
I believe some of the TDB models were on demo at the Cranage North West Audio show earlier this year and were well received. I was really frustrated that I could not attend.
The whole range look promising and the TDB8 are similar in size to my stand mounts, so I have an eye on them too. It looks like big range topping TDB-12 could be quite the beast!

Yes, it's quite a whopper, isn't it?! At the moment, I have Monitor Audio RS6 floorstanders. They do, actually, sound wonderful, but I suspect that close to a bookcase or wall they may not work as well. At the moment, they are about 20cm into the room
I have never heard of the company or listened to the product, but the prices on their website are very reasonable if they are good speakers.
I have a pair of BC30s on the end of an RPI with Justboom DAC HAT and a small Yamaha integrated amp to play Radio Paradise FLAC and TV in the living room, and very good they are too.
I prefer sealed boxes with single speaker terminals and there's very little of those available, at least in the affordable range for a second system. Ordered these in walnut direct from Yorkshire (I'm in Australia) and they arrived three weeks later, beautifully made, finished and packed. The guy who makes them is a gent, but looking at his website he seems to have moved on to other designs. I've had mine for a couple of years.
They tend to mid-forwardness and took an age to run in, but they suit my tastes and I'm happy with them. On a pair of Apollo stands I already had, backed up to the wall and connected to the amp with Anti Cable speaker wire.
The BC-30 need a fuller sounding amp, maker adressed this (perhaps Naim wasn't a perfect match) in a dialoq when I purchased mine, obviously they are developed on valve amplication or similar. They could easy go even further straight up against wall if it wasn't for the bulky speaker connectors. Mine are MK1, no idea about changes to slightly larger MK2 apart from a price hike. FWIW my UQ1 was quite good on them, a larger Naim pre/power not so.
I replaced my BC-30 on the TV setup with some Ophidian Minimo, they are entirely different animals, work quite close to backwall but need a beefy amp, really stunning speakers.
