Fault 36 on NDX

My NDX is running 4.6 firmware and has been fine until now. Suddenly showed "Fault 36 on 22" and the front buttons don;t do anything. Still plays through the Naim app. Tried reinstalling 4.6 which went ok but not resolved the fault. Tried turniong on / off, waiting 10 mins etc. Still showing the fault. Any clues please?

My guess is that it's a hardware issue that is causing the error to be thrown. While NDSs had Fault 36 issues 3-4 years ago that were software related, it happened to a lot of people and was fixed via a firmware update.
