While OLEDs are likely a good choice for keeping display noise down (so good for high performance audio products), it would appear judging by reading reports across the 'net of different makes and models that longevity can sometimes be an issue, and was certainly a big problem in the early production of things like OLED TVs. FWIW, I'm told Naim have moved on to using improved screens (or no screen in the ND5xs2) in the new range. For all that, I have yet to have a failure or dimming of the OLEDs on my devices even after a number of years constant use, but then I'm usually quite careful to ensure that they are set (where such settings exist) to turn off after a few moments, or perhaps I've just been relatively lucky. Either way, it's a good practice to ensure you have the display settings set to dim the display after a button press or function change.
The good news is that AFAIK Naim should still be able to supply a replacement OLED screen for anyone who has been unlucky and had one fail.
