Bowers-Wilkins 803 D3 paired to Naim Supernait 2?

Posted by: Tramat on 28 September 2018

Good evening forumers, the integrated amplifier Naim Supernait 2 powered by Naim HiCap DR could be able to drive the floorstanding speakers Bowers & Wilkins 803 D3 ?.

Thank you

David

No help to you in your question sorry Tramat, but I'm using 803S speakers with my Supernait 2 and it seems to have no problems driving the older 2005 era 803s. Sounds great to me with the speakers firing straight down the room, and I had no idea how much detail I was missing with my previous speakers. Hopefully someone with D3s will post soon.

No idea about the SN2 but my 803D3 were perfectly happy being driven by a NAP 200 if that is any help.

Considering the NAP 200 power rate, lower than my integrated amplifier, I think I could be more confident now to drive this B&W

... and these have been keepers, showing off subsequent upgrades to 250DR and 282/SupercapDR, won't be goinf anywhere else now

Hi Allan, I thought you were going with the 252 as mentioned in your previous thread? May i ask if the 282 was compared to the 252 before you chose the former combined with the Supercap DR? Perhaps you should update your earlier thread for a closure :-)

Ryder, well spotted ...

... finger issues, I have upgraded to 252, didn't demo the 282 since I was heading for my keeper pre so just went for the end-point.

Going to post when the 252 is run-in for a couple of weeks,

Allan
