app update

Posted by: JohnA on 03 October 2018

I recently updated the naim app on my iPhone which controls my NDX streamer and am now having problems playing classical works, which are constructed of separate movements, in the correct sequence. This applies both to accessing the work directly and to playlists. If I construct a playlist of separate works then with the cursor on the first track select "Play from this track" after playing the first track the app jumps beyond the second track.

I didn't have this problem with the previous version. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so have you found a solution? Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think this is caused by the app or an update to it.

Have you tried restarting everything, so your router, your music store, your NDX and the app?

Before delving any deeper, check the simple things first - have you inadvertently hit the 'random' button?!

Yes Chris is definitely right about that. I remember a few months back getting seriously sure I had a serious fault on my UQ2 and it turned out that I had hit the mute button in the app (I hadn't even realised there was a mute button there!).

Brilliant Chris! That was it. In fact both the repeat and the random buttons were on. When setting up a playlist I often fast wind through a piece to play the last few seconds and see that the change to the next track works well and I must have inadvertently hit the these buttons as one is each end of the track position indicator. I must say it is not that easy to see the difference between the on and off positions. Would be an improvement if they were colour coded.

Thanks also David for your suggestions, I did try a full reboot before Chris's suggestion and obviously it didn't help though not a bad idea to do this now and again anyway.

Glad you’re sorted, it’s easy to hit those little buttons without noticing!
