Nap 200DR and Nova

I wonder if there is anything to gain in SQ if I connect a Nap 200 DR to my Uniti Nova? opions very much welcomed.

When I added a 200DR to my Superuniti, it did sound a little better, but to my ears, nowhere near enough to justify the price of the 200. I would expect the same argument to apply even more with the Nova.

If you go for a 200, there is little to be gained in going for the DR version, as the DR spec only applies to its preamp PSU, which you would not be using with a Nova, so a used non-DR version might be worth a try. Or a 250?

Is this an interim measure, after which you will upgrade the rest of your system? I added a 200DR to my SU as the first step towards NDX/282/200, otherwise I would not have bothered.

Isn’t the nova more powerful than 200? The spec for the toroidal transformer is greater in the nova in terms of va and I can’t see the streaming bit using chunks of power

I added a 250dr then a 300 dr, both improved on the Nova for Prat. But this was an interim step for me , as Chris discussed above, I would probably have happily stayed at a bare Nova or a 272/250.

The Nova and Superuniti are both 80W, as opposed to the 200 at 70W, so you are not getting more power.

The chap who bought my 250DR added it to his Nova and while there was a difference it wasn’t overwhelming. And that’s a 250 rather than a 200. I wouldn’t do it unless it’s an interim step to something else.
