Connection Advice CD 5XS - n Dac - XS2

Hi all

I’ve just acquired a second hand mint nDac and intend to try it as the digital to anologue converter for my CD 5XS utilising the 5XS as a transport.

I currently power the CD 5XS via a Flatcap 2 XS and I believe this connection will no longer be required once I utilise the digital out from the cdp ? As the Flatcap also powers the XS2 I intend to use the spare power output to power my Stageline direct which is currently powered via the aux 2 output on the XS2.

I think I need a BNC to BNC digital interconnect (Naim DC1 or otherwise) for the best connection between the cdp and nDac (I assume this should be connected to the BNC coaxial input 1 on the Dac ?) but am a little unsure which input to connect the din out on the Dac to on the XS2.

The Dac manual seems to suggest the Aux 1 input is preferable as this facilitates the remote control link on the Dac but this would require a din to phono cable as the Aux 1 is only a phono input on the XS2. Could I just use a standard Naim 5 pin Din connection cable supplied with the Dac and connect this to the cd input on the XS2 without any loss in sound quality.

Thanks in advance

Yup, using the Naim Din interconnect would be my choice - into the CD input.

When funds permit, then try a Hi-Line.
