problem with Naim Uniti Nova and spotify

Hello. 

My Uniti Nova is in version 2.6.1.9794.

There is no update with the software menu.

But for 2 days, I can't connect with Spotify Connect protocol.

 

Any idea?

Quick update, unfortunately not more to say at this at this time, but we continue to troubleshoot with Spotify to see what they've changed that is causing this.

In the meantime, you can send Spotify audio to your product via Google Cast, Airplay or Bluetooth.

If you have Google Cast enabled, then next to the speaker name in the Spotify app you'll see three dots '...' - tap that and then choose Google Cast rather than Spotify Connect.

For Airplay or Bluetooth, choose the More Devices option at the bottom of the Device list in the Spotify app and select the appropriate device.

I have no 3 dots next to Uniti Star in Spotify....however just checked my Chromecast setting In Naim app and I can not see Version Number displayed....it constantly updating and updating and updating......but does not showing Version Number....should I be worried?

To ensure Chrome/Google Cast is enabled correctly, an easy way is to run through the setup wizard again.  From the main Rooms screen, tap the "+" in the top right, then choose the appropriate product category.  Follow the prompts and ensure that on the 'Chromecast Built-in' screen you choose Accept, then continue to the end of the wizard.

I just realized that my Chromecast isn't working..it says it was successfully set up....but I don't think so.....I'm on wired network and no, Chromecast can not find Uniti Star....not sure what I'm doing wrong....but if I cant not figure this out looks Naim support is my only option... :-(

What happens if you select Spotify from within the Chromecast input on the Naim app?

I have the same problem as well. Did everything as stated above with no effect. Should have come to the forum as the first thing. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Makes me realise how much I use my Nova and how I love it.

Hi,

It will open Spotify app, from there I select Uniti Star which app can not connect to.

BTW, I noticed following;

  • drop down option only having 2 entries; Spotify and Google Music
  • Under setting tab at Naim app>input settings> Chromecast does not display Version Number but UPDATING.....
  • I can not connect any Chrome Cast enabled app
  • My Star is on wired network
  • Tried to switch to wireless, still no good

I totally agree. I just changed from a Devialet system believing Naim would provide a bullet proof system. Stupid mistake.

well, i have been using Naim streaming products for 5 years, and they have always been flawless, and awesome,  till this recent situation, so I am willing to cut them some slack. Of course, if the problem persists, will have to e-evaluate that position. They say they are working on it, so hopefully this is just a memory soon!

I think you should be blaming Spotify.......Naim have not changed anything.  Greg from Naim said they are trouble shooting with Spotify to see what they....Spotify have changed!

The difficulty is that many IT Companies (which includes Naim - software is more and more important) use agile teams doing continuous delivery of bug fixes, new features, ui changes, etc ...

Even if these agile teams are working within the same organization, discrepancies between deliveries can happen and break things.

Unfortunately, this happens. The good news is that since the delivery cycle is much shorter, a fix can usually be provided relatively quick.

Hi Folks. No Greg here today so I thought I'd give you a quick update before the weekend.

Spotify identified an issue with their login servers (details unknown) and have rolled out an update today which should fix the problem with the Unitis and Streamers, fingers crossed. No action is required for your units, as the problem is in the cloud they will just start working again. 

I was hoping to test it here at HQ before letting everyone know, however the staggered nature of these roll-outs means it hasn't come to Salisbury yet.

is it working for anyone on the forum? It sounded like the software update was going to go territory by territory. i am in Canada, and still nothing. is it working anywhere, for anyone?
