No more Qobuz Sublime
Posted by: docbot on 10 October 2018
I have been a very happy Qobuz Sublime subscriber for the last couple of years. It now looks like Qobuz no longer offer Sublime, only the expensive Sublime+. They are now offering “Studio” for high res streaming but no mention of discounted downloads. My subscription is up for renewal at the end of the month and will be most dischuffed if I cannot stay on Sublime. Any one with further info on this?
Audirvana+ updated last night with mention of a new the Qobuz integration stream, Studio. So I clicked over to Qobuz and mouched round my profile page. I found the offers for upgrade to my current Sublime subscription, close on 60 euros reduction to Studio or Sublime+, plus an additional free month with Studio. As I was not far off a renewal and also contemplating a move to High res streaming to test out the ND 555, I decided it was time to hit the Sublime+ button. So for a little more than what a Sublime renewal would have cost I now have HR streaming. And I am happy to continue the purchase of high res files for my own use. I'll recoup a good part of the extra cost with the release of the HR file of More Blood, More Tracks Deluxe in three weeks time. Nice one Qobuz, and I hope we can look forward to seeing you on Roon soon.

Did you have to go to Change My Subscription to see the offers? I'm wary of going there!

I am not sure that has any bearing as the current territories are not limited to the EU. Well it might however be cheaper as UK citizens should be able to claim the VAT back.. if not billed from the UK.
Qobuz normal pricing is extortionate at the moment and has got higher than it used to be. They are making non subscribers pay for the new tiers of sublime+ who get the discount. Having a asubline + trial at the moment it also seems not all tracks are discounted either I found quite a few that where still £15. So not all is golden for that price but the new price is better value than it was.

Yes you can do it that way but I logged in to my account and then went to the streaming offers page, the page that shows all the available options. Either way you end up in the same place. I clicked on each offer one by one and each time it showed me the new subscription details with a prorate reduction related to my current subscription at the foot of each of the page. It is quite safe as you are still at least a couple of pages away from the payment option tab. And there is a return tab at the top of each subscription offer page, so it is easy to go back and forth to check things out. Hope that helps.
Just checked their offerings for streaming (i buy music instread of streaming). They offered a new streaming abo cd and highres quality for 249€/year or 24,99€/month...imho thats pretty good!

Thanks cycling66 but I'm not seeing anything like that - Change My Subscription takes me to Streaming Plans - no offers shown at all. Weird. Unless I have to click on the Subscribe button?
When on Streaming Plans you click on Sublime+, then Subscribe, it shows you the cost and in the left hand panel deducts the value of your current subscription foprom the new price. In my case it was a whopping £1.80!

Which package were you on before Nick?
Sublime
Yes, Nick has described it right for the UK site. i was on the French site which has 'Offres de streaming' rather than 'streaming plans', I had translated that into 'offers', sorry. Anyway, I'm very pleased with the shift to higher res streaming. Sounds great and is working very well on via ND 555 via Audirvana+. I have yet to try the via Lumin/Linn Kazoo, UPnPBubble, etc
Update:
Today my Sublime subscription was due to expire. This morning I received a receipt from Paypal informing me they'd taken £219.99 payment on behalf of Qobuz, which is the old Sublime rate.
I decided to try and buy an album (Masayoshi Fujita - Book Of Life) at the Sublime rate and, after it had warned me I didn't have a Sublime subscription, it duly charged me the Sublime rate!
So, it looks like you can stay as you were. Result.
Great - this is what I was looking for. :-)
Nice, that's what I'm going to try next July when my next subscription period is due. I hope that hack is still going to work then.
