Mu-so & NAS without broadband?

Help.......

We have a house in the Spanish Pyrenees without broadband. The acoustics in the living room are amazing. It’s a large, narrow, high ceilinged room. Currently we use some Harmen Kardon Bluetooth soundsticks & bluetooth high ish res(256mps) music from iPad to the soundsticks. We also use internet radio(tune in) from our phone. The satellite speaker has a blown tweeter so we are looking to upgrade/replace with a mu-so.

I’d like to use higher res (lossless or better) on the mu-so and wondered whether a NAS would be able to do this without broadband/a network. Furthermore, I’m unsure how I would control the playback of the music from the NaS. Presumably the NAS plugs directly into the mu-so..... I’m guessing a network is required to use any apps which could see and play back the music from the NAS.

....or is it only possible to Bluetooth or hardwire music playback from my iPad as there is no broadbandat the house?

...any thoughts welcomed.

incidently I do have an old MacBook that I could utilise in the set up if that helps.

Yes a NAS is nothing to do with internet or broadband... you simply need a home network with a switch, a Wifi access point and your NAS with your music and a media server on it.

you might want to use an old broadband router.. but just not connect to any broadband .l it will provide the Wifi and the DHCP (method of automatically managing devices on your home network).. it will also probably have four switchports on it so you don’t need a separate switch. if you connect a PC to your Wifi you transfer songs from your PC to your NAS.   The job is a good ‘en.

I have used my muso Qb and Uniti Core  plugged into an old wireless router with no broadband connection when on holiday in France in a place with no Internet. You still use the app running on a phone which is connected to the wifi. It would be just the same with a NAS instead of the Core.
