Is Roon compatible with my UnitiServe (system version 1.7b)?

Nope

It will not run Roon, but Roon will find it’s music library, scan it, and play it to a Roon Endpoint.

Thanks for the reply.  What is a Roon Endpoint?

Roon is system that has two essential parts. A Roon core, this runs the Roon server software, this can be a pc running, windows, mac os or linux, or a dedicated computer server such as SonicTransporter, Inuous or Roons own Nucleus. The core does all the hard work, managing the library, DSP upsampling, Streaming Tidal and other DSP room correction and multitoom tasks. The server sends your music via Roons proprietary streaming protocol called RAAT to Roon Ready  endpoints, or  via Airplay, Sonos speakers, Chromecast, Devialet Air, KEF Ls50w speakers. Endpoints come in all shapes and sizes and prices. The latest Naim streamers and Uniti all in ones are a good examples of RAAT Roon ready endpoints. You can make a Roon endpoint from the pc running the sever software to or a cheap Raspberry pi computers. I would look at Roons website and read about how it all works.
