272, XPS, ATC SCM50ASLT - adding a CDX2...

Which will be the best way to get max result - using the CDX2 as a stand alone player or as a transport to 272?
Next step will be 555PS for 272, XPS will go to CDX2
Thx
The CDX2 has a very good DAC and everything is optimised for CD, so I use my CDX2 as is with an analogue feed into my 272. It sounds great and not noticeably different from a UnitiCore rip into 272 by upnp.
So I have never felt sufficiently motivated to try using the CDX2 as a transport into a digital input on the 272.

Thanks David, DIN or RCA connection?
I used the standard Naim interconnect so that's DIN I believe.

CDX2 is way too good of a player to use is just as a transport to any dac let alone the 272
i tested 272/555psdr vs cd2x and Cd2x/555psdr vs 272
cd2x/555dr was all different ball game as source in my opinion... better stage separation detail...
555ps is a dramatic effect on both 272 and Cd2x
but I like the sound of Cd2x even with a Txps, which makes the player more mid centric but very nice with jazz and classic, very different than xps
I have a CDX2.1 which I used to use into a 272. The CD was better than Tidal hifi and Nas replay. I added a 555 to the 272 which made it a far better Pre amp. Everything improved and CD replay was still by far the best source. I then moved the 555 to the CDX2 and it took on a whole new lease of life. The analog side of the pre amp great and CDX2/555 into 272 was very good
