Analogue outputs on streamer

Posted by: Praggers on 12 November 2018

If I connect both the RCA (into my AV Amp) and DIN analogue outputs from a Naim streamer, will they play music simultaneously?

I use my AV amp for my outdoor speakers.

I believe you can set them to output simultaneously look up in the Manuel.

CDX2 that i had - yes, NDS i have yes.  Dealers advice was buy your IC chose the appropriate one and turn the other off.  I keep both mine running because the NDS RCAs feed my headphone amp  Dont think i have suffered SQ wise TBH.

My NDS runs my headphones amp to...but I always change to din out only for serious listening sessions... Don't know why ..not sure if I can hear any difference...I just do it

Naim’s view is that SQ is slightly compromised when both outputs are enabled, so usually best to choose one or other, DIN being favoured overall.

Your profile does not mention what your main amp is. If it is a Naim amp with a tape loop, your best course of action is to get a DIN-RCA lead from the tape/hdd (the label varies depending on the age of the amp) loop and feed that to the AV amp.

Of course you can only do that if it is a Naim amp with a tape/hdd input and you are not already using that to link to an external headphone amp.
