mb100 with SN2

Maybe someone has tried or knows if it possible. I have the possiblity to borrow a pair of TP mb100. My Naim amp is a SN2 is it possible to bypass the amp in the SN2 and use only the pre section with the MB100s? I would like to know the sound, I am very happy with my kit now but it just to try.

Yes, you can run a non-Naim power amp with a Naim preamp, including the Supernait preamp. You’ll need to get suitable DIN to RCA cables, although I wonder if you could also use the Supernait RCA sub out.

thanks Chrissu for the info. That’s my problem where do i plug the din cable, because in the naim wiring pdf it is not so clear. That’s an interesting idea to run the amps from the  sn2 sub out but wouldn’t I have problems with the gain?

Probably best to just use the pre out of the SN2 with a 4 pin DIN to 2xRCA lead, but the sub out is post volume control, so it should work too. Have a look at the connections guide for more pics (google ‘Naim connections guide’ and you’ll find it.)

So if I understand the connection guide I connect a 4pin to RCA from the out put labeled nap power amp in.. Sorry I’m such a beginner I bought my kit used several years ago it’s my first step into real HiFi. It’s such a pleasure to listen music now. My last question; My logic tells me that if I go with the 4pin from the 2 Monoblocks the signal is bypassing the amp in the SN2 and using just the pre in the SN2 correct . If I use the sub out am I getting the full signal? Or just the lowest frequencies? And again thank you For sharing your knowledge

The sub out does not filter out the high frequencies, the sub normally does that itself, so if you prefer to use RCAs, I think that would work. Naim prefer DIN connections, which you would take from the preamp output.
