Nd5xs vs ND5xs2

I think it probably depends on the situation.

Cuciu, I would ask moderators to modify your title slightly so that it is clearer and you get better responses. For instance, Naim make an amplifier called an XS2.

And how does ND5XS with PS compare to ND5XS2? Since old version can be upgraded and new cannot. My guess is old wins on SQ since I’ve read ND5 w/PS bests bare NDX and NDX bests new ND5. I hate to say too many options right now but damn there seems to be too many options right now. Lol

I Just upgraded. The xs2 is at home, but I’m still on the other side of the planet... needless to say I’m itching to get home

And I hadn’t heard that ND5XS+PS beats NDX.

I haven’t listened to NDX but when I added XP5XS to my ND5XS the improvement was marginal - against that I had been led to believe NDX was a significant step up.

But maybe soon there will be some direct comparisons of ND5XS2 against various other options.

I think the ND5XS + PSU beating NDX comes (among others) from Andrew Everard's review of the ND5 XS in Gramaphone (available online via an easy search).

The same for me. XP5XS added nothing to my ND5XS and was sold quickly.

Nd5xs2 - truly a mad jumble of characters.  This box needs to be renamed.
