Is this a good sign or not ?

Seems an awful lot of old best sellers. Maybe because 2018 was the year of mega reissues, or maybe because folk are just not clued up on what else is out there ?

I blame it on brexit. People are afraid of investing  in new music without knowing what the future holds!

Wow, that must be about half a dozen new releases.

Even worse, they're obviously buying the wrong Led Zep album.

Not many comments here, maybe not interested much in new vinyl? I've bought 3 new vinyls in last two or three years although I have a collection of a couple of hundred or more that are played semi-regulaly when in a nostalgic mood. Rich

I’m not overly surprised. I suspect that the main resurgence in vinyl is a combination of younger people looking to build a new collection and older people who got rid of vinyl back in the 80’s and now getting a bit nostalgic.

New vinyl releases are still mostly a niche product.

I see I have 13 of those titles, but I'm rather pleased that I didn't, nor did I need to, buy any of them in 2018.

That is depressing! Mind you, it would be interesting to know what the numbers actually were.

Good to see Hatful of Hollow in there, even if it would be much better spread across a double LP set rather than squashed into just two LP sides.

Strange I don't see 'The Best of The Beatles' in the list.

I’d spend hours in HMVs, Virgin Megastores and second-hand record shops staffed by greasy-haired 40-year-olds dressed as 20-year-olds, listening to contemporary music of every genre – Britrock, heavy maiden, gang rap, brakebeat. And I came to a startling but unshakeable conclusion: no genuinely good music has been created since 1988.

Well done spotting Alan Partridge’s favourite Beatles album.
