Is this into an AV2?

From the multichannel outputs on the oppo, the Din's are into AV2's VIPS inputs the cables are flashback 4x phono to naim DIN so yes into an AV2 they are already connected i just need to know the connection at the oppo end as they only have a trace indentification.

vjr,

probably best to contact the cable supplier/maker as they will know which RCA corresponds to which pins.  Once identified, mark them with labels so you know in future.

I'm interested in knowing your cable(s) configuration for the Oppo 95 -> AV2 setup. I'm considering switching from my Naim DVD5 to an Oppo for better picture quality but am worried that the sonic qualities of the DVD5 will be lost... thnx

Hi Macuser well my oppo BDP95's primary connection is via optical for standard DD/DTS 5.1 audio > AV2 picture is sent via HDMI 1 with audio off, then for multichannel DD/DTS HD audio is connected via BD95 analogue phono outs to NAIM configured VIP's DINS these are Flashbacks cables 4x phono > DIN to the AV2 VI inputs configured to use 6CH with HD decoded audio straight from the BD95.

The oppo 95 has very good onboard decoding so this is what is used to handle and decode the HD DD/DTS and 2CH stereo sound and it is quite spectacular, if i switch to optical there is a noticeable difference in sound quality because the SPDIF is unable to handle due to insufficient bandwidth i believe.

All i can say is you will notice in my opinion anyway the loss of the DVD5 as far as 2CH audio is concerned lets face it was not a £500 top spec far east player but the gain in picture quality and the ability to listen to bluray HD audio decoded via the analogue outs is very pleasing indeed, don't forget you can also play High Res audio files and many other audio/video formats will more than make up for what is gone namely the naim sound from the DVD5 CD playback abilities.

I part exchanged my BDP93 unmodified regions/zones for the BDP95, i got quite a good deal just under £400.00 so i acquired mine for £600.00 fully modded for all regions/zones, the dealer i done business with gave me the option if i wasn't satisfied with the BDP95's abilities then i could return it considering i was hooking upto naim equipment it hasn't been returned, i suppose you could ask for the same with whoever you do a deal with just in case it isn't to your liking as far as sound is concerned.

Best Regards.
