N-serve & Ipod - Brilliant

Posted by: GerryMcg on 14 September 2011

Reluctantly (I do not like apple) I recently bought an Ipod, for controlling my Unitiserve. I was previously using my laptop which is OK but I wanted something more convenient.

The N-Serve app is superb and I am delighted with it, it does everything I want.

The added bonus that I had not thought of (doh!!) is the Spotify app. Up to now I was using an Xbox 360 to stream directly into my nDac, but the SQ is very poor, even though I just use it for evaluation purposes  it was difficult to assess the quality of an album. Now I can play through the Ipod directly into the nDac and SQ is good, massively below the Unitiserve even though I have the Premium version with 320kps, but perfect for assessing the merits of proposed album purchases - just ordered 5 CD's!!

Why? They speak very highly of you and think you are great guy especially as you bought one of their iPODs. You'll be wanting a Mac next; you know you will ....

All the best, Guy

Hi Guy, no quite happy with my Sandybridge laptop. As I say I underestimated the Ipod, and I think the Ipad 2 is an excellent product, particularly as Apple were able to invent the on board camera within a year of launching the original .

There was  time when the Apple computers were technically superior to any PC but they were of no use to me as I needed to be able to interface with my work applications.

Noways I get tired of the "Windoze" comments when in fact I have recently built 2 PC's running W7 which are far faster than my neighbour's new Mac. My fastest cost me £750 and handles HD video editing, advanced gaming and can load have an Excel spreadsheet loaded within 35 seconds of switch on. Incidentally as you probably know it is more costly to self build a PC than have one tailor made.

Each to their own.

I still like the Ipod however.
