Much like the proverbial Corporation Omnibus... nothing for ages, then two almost at once...

Available to pre-order at all good... well, its on Amazon....
(thanks to the clever bots on Amazon, which told me about this, as I was checking if the new Tori Amos was out yet. It is - and the new KB will be in November..)
Musically; it's either seasonally dark, introspective and interesting or a right load of pretentious old twaddle. I need to hear it some more.
The price of child genius presumably John. Either that or living in the New Forest
Chris
Cheers for that Nic.
Have you been down/over to see Diccus of late?
Stu
Stu,
We keep in touch via facetube and get to the occasional gig together. I am hoping to get along to his traditional Jolly Boys Christmas extravaganza, but social calendar is always congested as hell at this time of year.
Regards
Nic
... pretentious old twaddle...
John.
What a great name for a band
Bruce,
Thanks for your thoughts. It was done Private.
Stu.
John.
I have played it twice now.
I cant be boverd to play it a third time.
I might dig it out of the rack again in a week or two?
It does nothing for me at the mo..
Shame.
Stu
John,
I thought I have problems with my ears first. I downloaded the album as high res and the sound is really dull and very disapointing to me. Definitly not what I expected form a high quality recording. First I thought it is the download only but CD obviously sound the same :-(

I beg to differ, OK it has not got the kick inside and it won't reach the hounds, but it is interesting in many ways - admittedly the title track with the voice of the Olympics is dreary, but there are some high points - yes there were better record released this year, but nothing truly original - much what I'd expect like great records from HMHB, Polly Jean, Ozrics, Noel G etc .,
The SQ on vinyl is not bad either, but then I'm always less concerned with the SQ than the songs.
It sounds as flat as a fart on my expensive Naim Hi-Fi system, so yet again we have a release which has been deliberately engineered to be 'radio-friendly' to flog it to the great unwashed.
John.
PS. Depth of farts measured upon request. Send offending whiff and an SAE.
Go figure.
John.
> Steven Wilson's delightfully sympathetic remaster of the forty year old recording of Caravan's 'In the Land of Grey of Pink' which sounds absolutely superb.
Well you can't expect much to come close that - I really what Steven Wilson does to these classics and it doesn't come much more classic than LOG&P - a sensational album by one of the best groups around. Richard Sinclair's vocals are as good as gets for a male singer in my view.
(I bet he's not even mentioned in Rolling Stone's top 100 vocalists)
All the best, Guy
+2 for what Steven has done to the Pink double limited to 500 copies Caravan vinyl.
The CD box set is also stonking..
He did have good condition originals to work with though.
Was it 40 years ago?
It still seems like yesterday ,I paid well under £2 for it when it came out.
