Have Uniiserve HD - but thinking ahead...

I have a US HD which I am very happy with, and have circa 750 CDs lovingly ripped onto the internal HD. But thinking ahead 2-3 years, I will probably want to move the whole lot to a NAS. I don't have on yet, but will probably get one.  My question is - will it simply be a matter of copying the whole US library across to the NAS ? Or wil be there be problems with tagging, meta data etc.?

Have read much about rips, tagging, Twonky etc on this forum which I don't fully understand.

Thoughts gratefully received..

It will just be a simple process of copying from one disk to the NAS. It may take about 16 hours for 750 CDs with a regular network.

Manu, many thanks, seems like I was worrying over nothing.

I have some his res dowmloads which are currently on USB sticks, presumably these could be copied to the NAS too, in a separate folder ?

Am I also correct in thinking that the Hi Res music can't be added to the US Hard disk ? Just wondering, because when looknat the US hard disk using my Mac, I see three subfolders, HQ, MQ, and LQ, with all the CD rips in the MQ folder, and the other two folders empty.

Cheers, Paul

Not sure if we will ever use the other 2 folders but I am guessing the file structure was set as MQ=medium quality, HQ=high Quality and low quality

I am in the same situation.  I can access the uServe (it appears as a network drive) and can copy from it, but the metadata won't be there, right?  So if I move away from the uServe solution in a few years I have to deal with (re)tagging all of those wav files . . . not so sure how to do that efficiently.
