Unitiqute/Mac/album art

Posted by: tonyj on 02 October 2011

Hi I am new to the forums , this may have been answered already but I cannot seem to get the album artwork from my Mac / iTunes onto my iPad app . I am running a Unitiqute / allegro media server / Mac . I have talked to allegro about this and have used the import art work option in the AMS drop down menu but to no avail . can anyone help please .
Incidentally I used to run Eyeconnect and had endless trouble streaming my iTunes library , it would stop and not play whole albums and was painfully slow at accessing tracks but the AMS is way better and has cured all of those problems .
regards
Tony

You can see your Vortexbox library on the Mac in iTunes. Once connected VB streams flac as wav. Of course if you enable alac mirroring on VB you can transfer your library across wholesale. Tog

Bizarre...  I find it to be exactly the other way around.

How genius is Apple's UPNP software?

Anyway just had a look and i've not got quite as much as i first thought (the other half would disagree!) -  1333 CDs which equates to 15230 songs. To match your buddy i'd need on average 5-6000 CDs so i think iTunes will cope for now

James,

I dont know???? Drunk math I suppose.

I guess iTunes has improved greatly in this area.  I only use it for jamming music on my iPhone.

Any suggestions for making my buddy's run quicker?

Crazy!!!

I will get my bro's Mini specs.  I know he just bumped it up to 4GB RAM etc...  It is a fairly new model.  He thinks it is fast in every other way.  Only iTunes bogs down.  He tried Play and it was fast but he hates it.

Thanks,

P

Apple don't make UPnP software they use DAAP as a streaming protocol.

Majestic and n-stream seem to work really well. Responsive navigation and no artwork problems. Majestic is either resizing or compressing the artwork though - its certainly not as crisp as Playback. I've not found any issues with excessive CPU load or disk thrashing but if i run iTunes to update iPods or rip a disk with XLD then i disable the server otherwise i do get the problems noted.

iSedora works well with Uniti and Unitiqute. You can configure it for all the connected devices if there is a need for conversion.
