Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Bought new this year naim uniti in may.
Bought new this year apple mac, now updated lion pax 10.7
iPhone 4 current model
IStream current app ...
However, system stopped streaming ,keep getting clunked out , back to menu..
Dab ok, cd ok , tv ok...
Uniti finds mac /playlist/ albums/ artist etc , just returns to menu on selection .have been using eyeconnect ( which WAS fine , not now tho).any ideas chaps ?
Beginning to hate the item now, loved it when I bought it !!
Cheers paul
Are you using wired or wireless? Wired really works better.
Do you have large size >500 x 500 cover art?
And don't forget your dealer and Naim support.
Try installing xbmc. Add you music folder as a source and in settings turn on upnp. See if the uniti picks that up.
For the most part upnp on macs is a bag of nails.
thanks for all your suggestions guys, will try this evening and revert asap..
cheers
paul
Paul
Eyeconnect is crap! I think you will find that when Airplay is available as an upgrade you will have seamless playback from your MAC
Gordon
ta gordon,
i do agree, any idea when airplay will be available?
with new os 5 maybe?
paul
I heard that AirPlay might be made available next year (Q1) via firmware upgrade. But I think you have to have the new streaming board for 24-bit/192kHz replay fitted and that's going to cost 250 of your English pounds. Thanks!
EyeConnect - like wading through porridge .....
Asset UPnP via Crossover Mac should do the trick (both on 30 day free trial)
Tog
ta tog !
If it's any encouragement, I have the same config working except that I dropped Eyeconnect in favour of Playback as the uPnP server a while ago. I needed an update for Playback after installing Lion and I can't fault it now. If anything, artwork works now whereas it was fairly random before.
hi hifian
is that yazsoft?
James
Hi Paul, Yes, Yazsoft.com
I just had trouble with upnp with my antiquate. My pc (foobar) and iPhone (plug player) could see my upnp server fine.
I rebooted my mac and then all worked fine. Don't know how that helped. Perhaps some sort of ip conflict.
hi chaps,
i'm about to chuck this thing out the window !
have tried playback, not supported by power pc message. keeps appearing, majestic, eye connect again.
have rebooted mac , have reset factory settings , have uninstalled naim app and re installed again
now can't get mac to find uniti or play internet radio..
i'm not that thick , but there must be i'm coin wrong..
what is it?
Hi
could be the Lion OS upgrade; loads of Mac users have reported problems with it. Can you re-install Snow Leopard and see what happens? I'm not upgrading until all the bugs are fixed.
Good luck
hi oceanis
think ill have to give it a bash as nothing else seems to be working, finally got uniti to read playlists, itunes content, however once play is pressed, just goes into connecting mode and freezes.
same for i-radio...
grrr
Paul
Have you now solved this problem? Was it the Mac upgrade that caused it?
Best wishes
Oceanis
hello oceanis,
thks for the inq, but no still not fixed.
using playback, can see all playlists/artists etc, just when i choose option and press play,'connecting' message is displayed, and stays like it.
so no music, no joy !
grrr
Paul - what format is your music stored in on the Mac ?
Suprised you couldn't get Playback to work - out of all i've tried, Majestic and Playback just functioned out of the box.
Can you stream to any other devices (lots of UPnP players available for iPhone / iPad) - i use these to trouble shoot the UPnP server and this will at least rule out your Uniti being at fault ?
James
hi james
all my stuff is wav... took an age and a day to convert/re enter...
havnt tried any other device tho must admit, will chk appstore and give it a bash.
didnt realize they had upnp players on there, so cheers for the tip.
