I presume you have tried rebooting?

Are you using wired or wireless? Wired really works better.

Do you have large size >500 x 500 cover art?

And don't forget your dealer and Naim support.

Yes, i started off wireless with my Uniti, had a couple of dropouts, consulted Naim and ended up using an ethernet connection.  No dropouts since.

Hi Paul Have you tried restoring factory settings from menu? I have to do this now and again with mine... Takes a little while to find network again after (a few mins) but then normal operation is resumed. Cheers Ian

Its the mac not the uniti.

Try installing xbmc. Add you music folder as a source and in settings turn on upnp. See if the uniti picks that up.

For the most part upnp on macs is a bag of nails.

Paul

Eyeconnect is crap! I think you will find that when Airplay is available as an upgrade you will have seamless playback from your MAC

ta gordon,

i do agree, any idea when airplay will be available?

with new os 5 maybe?

I heard that AirPlay might be made available next year (Q1) via firmware upgrade. But I think you have to have the new streaming board for 24-bit/192kHz replay fitted and that's going to cost 250 of your English pounds. Thanks!

EyeConnect - like wading through porridge .....

Asset UPnP via Crossover Mac should do the trick (both on 30 day free trial)

If it's any encouragement, I have the same config working except that I dropped Eyeconnect in favour of Playback as the uPnP server a while ago.  I needed an update for Playback after installing Lion and I can't fault it now.  If anything, artwork works now whereas it was fairly random before.

Playback or Majestic. Both very good.

I just had trouble with upnp with my antiquate. My pc (foobar) and iPhone (plug player) could see my upnp server fine.

I rebooted my mac and then all worked fine. Don't know how that helped. Perhaps some sort of ip conflict.

Hi

could be the Lion OS upgrade; loads of Mac users have reported problems with it. Can you re-install Snow Leopard and see what happens? I'm not upgrading until all the bugs are fixed.

Good luck

hi oceanis

think ill have to give it a bash as nothing else seems to be working, finally got uniti to read playlists, itunes content, however once play is pressed, just goes into connecting mode and freezes.

same for i-radio...

grrr

Paul

Have you now solved this problem? Was it the Mac upgrade that caused it?

Best wishes

hello oceanis,

thks for the inq, but no still not fixed.

using playback, can see all playlists/artists etc, just when i choose option and press play,'connecting' message is displayed, and stays like it.

so no music, no joy !

Seriously - I have a house full of Macs - won't let Windoze through the door but I gave up on running UPnP servers on them. Buy, build or requisition an intel based PC and install a copy of Vortexbox. It can be easily managed by a Mac, will stream flac to the Uniti beautifully and has a built in iTunes server as well. Job done. Tog

Paul - what format is your music stored in on the Mac ?

Suprised you couldn't get Playback to work - out of all i've tried, Majestic and Playback just functioned out of the box.

Can you stream to any other devices (lots of UPnP players available for iPhone / iPad) - i use these to trouble shoot the UPnP server and this will at least rule out your Uniti being at fault ?
