Spendor A6 a suitable load for the nait XS?

Posted by: Marskal on 04 October 2011

Hey guys.

As the header suggest im contemplating a marriage between these two somewhere down the road of my hifi venture, and was wondering if my XS would be able to properly tame the spendor A6? First hand experience would also be greatly appreciated.

Rest of the system.

Rega RP3 w. exact PU, tt PSU

DAC (probably Rega or perhaps a one box solution like the new xs streamer)

Current room size 15m2 (3m from floor to ceiling). This is likely to get bigger when we move in a couple of years.

Thanks in advance

Hi Marskal,

I'm using a Nait XS with Spendor A6's and they work together fine.

My room is a similar size to yours and have never wanted for more power. Although I don't listen at high volume levels.

My system comprises CD5XS, Ndac, XPS2, Nait XS, Flatcap XS and Spendor A6's.

If you can add a Flatcap XS to the Nait XS it improves the sound quite alot and the Nait XS 'appears' to have more power, the music seems more effortless.

I have recently upgraded the Ndac with the XPS2 and so far, have not felt the need to upgrade the Nait XS.

Best Regards

Hey Russt

Ok that sounds promising i geuss. How do you find the dynamics and detail at low listening levels?

Marskal,

Even at low listening levels I find the dynamics and detail to be fine.

When I recently added an XPS2 to my Ndac I can clearly hear the differences.

I recommend you audition if it all possible to make sure you are happy with the Nait XS and Spendor A6 combo but I thoroughly recommend it.

Goody. Thanks for your reply. Yes wil definitely audition them together, just didnt wanna waste the sellers time if the XS wasn't up to the task.
